Members of Project Ouroborus
This list includes both current and past developers:
- Edgar J Becerra III He is the originator and leader of the project (perhaps even benevolent dictator for life, or at least for a long time). Some of the architecture of the code is his, particularly the high level structure, as well as some of the code, specially the genetics module.
He has a background in Mathematics (Topology), and a long history of interest and activism in free software. Recently he has aquired an interest in recent developments in biology, such as modern theories of evolution, biosemiotics, systems biology, synthetic biology, and so on; this interest developed naturally as an extension of his involvement in artificial life, but also from the realisation that one cannot contribute to this kind of research without some serious study.
- Ernesto Illescas-Peláez He works designing and coding the sound of the project and, more recently, is developing a multi-threaded version of the python simulation.
His formation is as a concert music composer (instrumental as well as electronic). Renowned ensembles have performed his music in Europe and America. His musical work has recieved several distinctions, as well as earned him scolarships and grants. His writen work has been published in France, and it is forthcoming in Mexico.
- Sat Tara S Khalsa He works on the birdcage library.
- Diego Trujillo Works on an environmentally responsive cellular automaton using the birdcage library and the arduino microcontroller.
